About The Position

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Dietary Lead to join our Food and Nutrition team! The main focus of our Lead Dietary Aide is providing personalized meal service to hospital patients. This role involves assisting patients with meal selection, serving meals, clearing trays, stocking unit pantries, transporting meal carts, and breaking down meal carts. Additionally, the position includes serving cafeteria customers, stocking cafeteria areas, general sanitation, and assisting other staff as needed. A key responsibility is maintaining records of safe food and refrigeration temperatures, and working with management to ensure smooth operations and quality control.

Requirements

• HS diploma or equivalency (required)
• Customer service oriented.
• Effectively communicates with customers, clients, and management.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and alone.
• Ability to interact with kitchen and supervisory staff.
• At least 2-3 years of Dietary Aide Experience

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with meal selection, serving meals to patients, clearing soiled and used trays from patients.
• Stocking nursing unit pantries with supplies, taking meal carts to and from the patient floors, breaking down meal carts and various other side work duties assigned by management during shifts.
• Serving cafeteria customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Stocking various areas in the cafeteria and general sanitation.
• Assisting other cafeteria and patient service staff as needed.
• Responsible for the record keeping of safe food temperatures and refrigeration temperatures.
• Works with management to ensure smooth operation and Quality Control.
