The Food Service Lead provides leadership and support in designated food service areas, including Pizzeria, Espresso, Bakery, Deli Market Meals, and Restaurant, acting as the go-to leader in the absence of managers. This role involves preparing department products for sale, ensuring quality control, and contributing to financial goals. The Lead will establish and maintain effective working relationships, ensure adherence to standards, and assist in hiring, training, and development. They will also foster a culture of safety, ensure compliance with laws, and stay updated on industry trends.

Requirements

  • High level of food service product knowledge and enthusiasm for food, cooking, and nutrition
  • Must be a positive team player, leader, and role model that can effectively manage through change

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and support in designated food service area of responsibility including Pizzeria, Espresso, Bakery, Deli Market Meals, and Restaurant and is the go-to leadership in the absence of managers
  • Prepares department product for sale
  • Ensures quality control of all meals from kitchen
  • Participates in establishing and maintaining an integral and collaborative environment
  • Assists in achieving quarterly financial goals with a focus on gross and labor
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, guests, market support staff and vendor community
  • Ensures adherence to Ready for Business standards throughout food service departments
  • Works closely with market staff to achieve timely completion of administrative tasks and operational functions
  • Assists in the hiring, training and development of employees
  • Establishes and maintains a 360-feedback process including guests, staff and leadership
  • Provides and role models excellent customer service
  • Maintains the integrity of our brand and marketing expressions
  • Maintains departments in a neat, clean and orderly manner
  • Establishes and maintains a culture of safety throughout all food service departments
  • Ensures food service compliance with local, state and federal laws
  • Role models attitude of service to staff and guests
  • Keeps up on industry trends, standards, and changes
