The purpose of this position is to insure that meals are prepared in a regular and consistent manner so that food quality standards are met. This role provides leadership and is a role model to those that work under this position’s control, taking an interest and initiative in the development of the Department’s team. The Lead Cook will meet or exceed industry standards for the preparation, storage and serving of food, prepare meals according to the recipe in a regular and consistent manner, and ensure that all food preparation is completed for the next shift. This role also involves inventory control duties, assisting the Inventory Manager in inventory and purchasing of food products, organization of all coolers, and unloading trucks. The Lead Cook will be responsible for checking off all products on purchase orders and production sheets, placing items in the proper buildings depending on party location, and creating production sheets from catering contracts. Additionally, the Lead Cook will manage the special diets mailbox, ensuring all items are purchased for each request and placing special diet menus on the menu board. This position will assist the Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, and RMS Inventory Manager in assigned duties and complete purchase orders for items in the Kitchen as needed or directed.
