The Food Service General Worker performs skilled work in the preparation and service of nutritionally adequate, reimbursable meals. This role is responsible for meeting production deadlines and ensuring the quality of food products. The position involves following daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning, and participating in ongoing state-approved training related to Food & Nutrition Services. The worker is expected to demonstrate exceptional customer service, use good judgment, and maintain professionalism when interacting with students, parents, staff, and the general public. Responsibilities include operating point-of-sale systems, adhering to food safety rules and HACCP guidelines, performing various kitchen duties, assisting in ensuring safe meal service with good quality food, and managing supplies and inventory. The role also involves following recipes, operating food service equipment safely, maintaining a clean work environment, and adhering to sanitation practices. Additionally, the position may require driving vans and refrigerated/freezer trucks to satellite sites for food delivery.
