Food Service Cook/Cashier
About The Position
To perform any assigned Food Service Duties within the Marion Independent School District. This role involves operating the food service point of sale system, ensuring students are properly charged, recognizing USDA reimbursable meals, assisting in food preparation and serving, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. The position requires strong basic math skills, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community. Professionalism, organization, and flexibility in performing assigned duties are essential. The employee may be required to substitute at different buildings within the district and must attend required professional development hours.

- Must possess strong basic math skills.
Responsibilities
- Operating the food service point of sale system.
- Observe and ensure students are properly charged.
- Attain the ability to recognize a USDA reimbursable meal.
- Assist in preparing, cooking, serving the daily menu.
- Assist in daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, washing and sterilizing of dishes, silverware, utensils and cleaning of serving areas.
- Must maintain confidentiality within the food service program.
- Maintain a positive rapport with all staff, students, parents, and community.
- Dress in appropriate attire as required by the Director.
- Demonstrate organization and professionalism in your responsibilities.
- Be flexible and willing to perform any and all Food Service duties as they are assigned by the Director or Kitchen Manager.
- Substitute at any buildings within the district as needed when short staffed.
- Must attend the required number of hours each year of professional development set by the state.
