Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of five years cooking experience or culinary school and one year of management experience in a kitchen setting required

Nice To Haves

  • Quality catering and dining presentation experience preferred
  • PC software proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for inventory control and product orders.
  • Planning of staff schedules for food preparation, serving, and clean up
  • Implementation and changes to menus
  • Ensure that a daily preparation plan is reviewed with the prep staff each day, at least one day in advance
  • Supervise and participate in food preparation for meals
  • Plan and provide catering services within the community.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment in cooperation with the Executive Director
  • Ensure that the dining area is set and maintained
  • Responsible for meeting budget requirements for supplies, food, and labor costs
  • Assist in recruitment, orientation, and training of Dietary Aides.
  • Responsible for overall resident satisfaction with dining program.
  • Must complete all orientation and training requirements as outlined by state regulations
  • Ensure kitchen's compliance with all local, state and federal standards
  • Maintain current local, state, and federal license to operate commercial kitchen, if applicable
  • Maintain local and state certification to perform their duties, if applicable
