About The Position

The Charter County of Wayne is Michigan's largest county, home to 34 cities and nine townships. This role involves delivering individual meals door-to-door to eligible seniors enrolled in the Meals on Wheels program in western and downriver Wayne County communities.

Requirements

• High school diploma/equivalent
• Valid State of Michigan Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation with must maintain vehicle insurance
• Basic computer and cell phone skills
• Ability to communicate via email
• Available to work between the hours of 8am and 2pm

Responsibilities

• Pick up pre-packaged meals from central locations and deliver them to predetermined clients in surrounding areas.
• Delivery areas include, but are not limited to: Redford, Wayne, Westland, Lincoln Park, Garden City, Melvindale, Inkster and Ecorse.
• Available for on-call deliveries in designated service area with 24-hour advance notice.
• Comply with Wayne County Senior Services policies and procedures during deliveries.
• Deliver informational materials to clients included periodically with the packaged meals, i.e. nutrition education information, notices of Holiday closings, menus, etc.
• Utilize temperature maintenance equipment provided by Wayne County (coolers, Cambro containers, cold packs, hot packs).
• Allow time for supervisory meetings to discuss any concerns with deliveries or contract requirements.
• Effectively communicate relevant information regarding clients to appropriate Wayne County personnel.
