The Food Service Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking all items needed for daily orders, requisitioning supplies, and adhering to company recipes and portion sizes. This role involves prepping fruits and vegetables for various dishes, mixing ingredients for salads, and preparing dressings and cold sandwiches. Depending on the station, the cook may also work the sauté line, grill, or pizza oven, always following the FIFO rotation system and properly covering, labeling, and dating leftover foods. A key aspect of this role is ensuring food quality and sanitation by inspecting food and monitoring temperatures throughout preparation, in compliance with FDA and local health codes. Some dishwashing duties are also required. Additionally, Food Service Cooks are expected to provide extraordinary customer service, demonstrating a positive attitude, respect for others, and flexibility in the workplace.
