About The Position

The Food Service Clerk serves prepared goods to customers at the Food Service counter. This role involves taking customer orders, preparing food items, maintaining the counter area, and providing excellent customer service. The clerk must be able to handle various tasks including operating a slicer, making sandwiches, and setting up displays to promote sales. Exceptional customer service skills, including a positive attitude, respect, and flexibility, are essential.

Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision.

Responsibilities

Serves customers at the Food Service counter by listening to the request and obtaining the desired product.
Answers the telephone and takes orders when necessary.
Itemizes prices for counter goods.
Proper use of slicer to cut weighable product required.
Wraps and/or boxes and labels product.
Makes sandwiches and prepares lunch and dinner specials.
Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on the counter and tables to promote sales.
Stocks and replenishes products, napkins, condiments, waxed paper, and any other items at the Food Service counter needed to provide excellent customer service.
Provides customer service that is extraordinary and exceeds the expectations of customers.
Follows established policies and guides that go beyond simply smiling and greeting customers.
Maintains a positive “can-do” attitude; treats others with respect; and easily adjusts to changes in the workplace.
