About The Position

Operates Point of Sale (POS) as students receive meals. Collects money from sales of Smart Snacks and enters additional sales. Records breakfast in Mosaic (dining hall software). Closes day and runs daily reports. This position requires a minimum of High School Diploma. The work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Non-slip shoes are required. Requirements

  • Must be able to work with children of all ages.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work both as a team as well as independently.
  • Applies and maintains standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
  • Reads, writes, and communicates effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma.
  • Ability to stand/work in front of computer for continuous amount of time.
  • Ability to safely lift and move 35-50 pounds (over 15% and up to 60% of the time).
  • Standing for extended periods of time on concrete and tile floors.
  • Reach in all directions.
  • Bend, twist, kneel, and stoop.
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Using sharp knives and equipment, cleaning with caustic chemicals, and working on potential wet and slippery floors.
  • Non-slip shoes are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and POS software desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Enters meals for students/adults in POS.
  • Enters all Smart Snacks/extra entrees purchased.
  • Occasionally operates kitchen equipment such as, but not limited to, electric mixers, slicers, ovens, stove top, warmers, and dishwasher.
  • Utilizes kitchenware such as, but not limited to, knives, spatulas, whisks, tongs, spoons, and ladles.
  • Practices safe food handling according to HACCP or Serv-Safe, and Food Service Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Closes day and runs daily reports.
