About The Position
CHEO offers hotel-style food services with a room service initiative that has been well-received by patients and their families. They are launching a patient ordering app in August. Their retail locations include the Crafted at CHEO brand in the Cafeteria, Mr Sub, Pizza Pizza, and Starbucks coffee. They also operate the Treehouse Gift Shop. As a Food Service Attendant, you will be responsible for food preparation and handling, formula feed preparation, patient tray setup and assembly, tray delivery and pickup, catering setup, cash and closing procedures, operating the dish machine, maintaining sanitary conditions, and working in retail locations. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Criminal Record Check (Essential)
- Grade 12 diploma (Essential)
- Demonstrated initiative, team work and flexible work schedule (Essential)
- Demonstrated skills in dealing with the public (Essential)
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (Essential)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision (Essential)
- Minimum 6 months experience in food service operation (Essential)
- Physical strength sufficient to correspond to job requirements (Essential)
- Ability to prioritize (Essential)
Nice To Haves
- Bilingualism (English and French) (Preferred)
- Successful completion of Food Handler Certification (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Preparation and handling of food items in accordance to department regulations
- Preparation of formula feeds
- Patient tray set up and assembly
- Delivery and pick up trays to patient areas

- Maintenance of safe and sanitary conditions in work areas
