About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is hiring a full-time Food Service Associate/Barista at a coeducational international day school in Northwest Washington, DC. The position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and pays $19.50 per hour. The work environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and high-energy, with opportunities for growth and career advancement. The role supports hospitality and food service operations in the Metro DC market.

Requirements

1–2 years of related food service experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to converse comfortably with faculty, students, and staff.
Flexibility to switch between locations and job duties.
Barista skills.
Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a positive and friendly manner.
Help oversee catering activities to ensure they run smoothly.
Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit or debit card terminals, and handle exchanges efficiently.
Transport food and supplies to serving areas; assist with setup, maintenance, and breakdown of dining, food-serving, and beverage areas.
Serve and replenish food at counters and steam tables.
Assist with preparing hot and/or cold foods and store food properly, using knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
Keep dining room and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized.
Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment during and after meal periods.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
