About The Position

This position is responsible for requisitioning supplies and replenishing inventory. It involves hot and cold food production for retail services, maintaining a sanitary and organized environment, and practicing food safety codes and regulatory requirements. The role also includes serving customers in a professional manner with excellent customer service. The associate will know, understand, and demonstrate the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values. Key functions include preparing sliced fruit, vegetables, desserts, and meats for retail production and sales, setting up for café sales by stocking food and paper products, and frequently checking food temperatures, documenting them, and notifying a supervisor of any non-compliance. The role also involves monitoring and documenting temperatures of freezers, refrigeration, dishwashers, and heating units, and maintaining refrigeration units in a clean and compliant condition. Requisitioning, transporting, and replenishing foods and supplies, inspecting items for integrity, rotating stock, and disposing of outdated products are also part of the duties. The associate will properly wrap, label, and date food items, portion and package cold food items, and stock and clean refrigerated display cases. Making coffee, juice, and smoothies, and replenishing and cleaning beverage-dispensing machines are also required. Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, café serving and seating area, and equipment is essential. The role may involve cooking at the grill, fryer, or sandwich grill, and deep cleaning various areas and equipment. Cleaning and sanitizing utensils and equipment, and maintaining signage daily are also responsibilities. The associate will use standardized and non-standardized recipes to prepare foods and assist in other areas as requested. Other duties as assigned by the manager are expected. Maintaining a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, and other policies and procedures to ensure honest, ethical, and professional behavior is crucial.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge of several subjects in order to prepare reports, perform calculations and/or deal effectively with other people.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Responsibilities

  • Requisitions supplies and replenishes inventory.
  • Performs hot and cold food production for retail services.
  • Maintains a sanitary and organized environment.

  • Serves customers in a professional manner with great customer service.
  • Prepares sliced fruit, vegetables, desserts, and meats for retail production and sales.
  • Sets up for café sales, stocking food and paper products.
  • Checks food temperatures frequently throughout the shift and documents them.
  • Notifies Supervisor immediately of any food out of compliance.
  • Monitors temperature of freezers, refrigeration, dishwasher, and heating units throughout the shift and documents temperatures.
  • Maintains refrigeration units in clean, orderly condition, compliant with food codes and regulatory agencies.
  • Requisitions, transports, and replenishes foods and supplies to replenish inventory in the café.
  • Inspects items for integrity, rotates stock, and disposes of outdated products.
  • Properly wraps, labels, and dates food items.
  • Portions and packages cold food items; stocks and cleans refrigerated display cases.
  • Makes coffee, juice, and smoothies; replenishes and cleans beverage-dispensing machines and areas.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work area, the café serving and seating area, and equipment.
  • Pushes food carts, racks, and dish bins.
  • May cook at the grill, fryer, or sandwich grill.
  • Deep cleans refrigerators, countertops, cupboards, tile, and entire café serving and seating areas including microwaves, tables, chairs, and tray return.
  • Cleans and sanitizes utensils and equipment.
  • Maintains signage daily.
  • Uses standardized and non-standardized recipes and ingredients to prepare, create, and process foods.
  • Assists in other areas as requested.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.
