About The Position

This role involves a variety of tasks within the Nutrition & Food Service facilities, including operating cash registers, preparing and assembling food items, serving patient meals and cafeteria customers, and maintaining sanitation standards. The position requires the ability to communicate in English and provide excellent service to patients, visitors, and colleagues, reflecting the hospital's commitment to compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service.

Requirements

Ability to communicate in English to understand and respond to basic verbal and written English language instruction.
Ability to operate cash registers and make change.

Responsibilities

Operate cash registers and make change.
Slice meats and cheeses.
Prepare and assemble various food items including fruits, salad type vegetables, salad mixes (veg. & meat), between meal nourishments, tube feedings, gelatins, salads, sandwiches, juices, and coffee.
Serve patient meals, including between meal snacks and tube feedings.
Stock and maintain sanitation of floor kitchenettes.
Deliver patient meals and collect patient trays from patient floors.
Assemble cold foods, patient trays, and hot and cold beverages.
Service the cafeteria, including all aspects of service areas, grill, and cashiering.
Work in the dish room, washing, rinsing, and sanitizing pots, pans, equipment, floors, walls, and storage areas.
Remove trash, garbage, cardboard, and milk & bread crates.
Deliver and pick up patient meal trays for Cape Psych Center.
Perform all duties in compliance with hospital, local, and regulatory standards.
Perform other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested.
Consistently provide service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
