About The Position

NHC Healthcare Smithville is hiring a part-time weekend Food Service Assistant for its Food Nutrition Service Team. The role supports production and service of patient meals in a healthcare setting, including minimal food preparation, food delivery, kitchen cleaning, and other assigned duties. The facility provides restaurant-style dining for residents and their families, giving team members opportunities to interact with them and express their culinary talents and creativity.

Responsibilities

Assist with minimal food preparation and delivery of patient meals.
Receive and store food and supplies to prevent waste and ensure product quality; date, label, and store items properly using appropriate food-handling techniques.
Scrape, stack, wash, and sanitize dishes, flatware, utensils, pots, and pans; remove broken or chipped dishes and glassware from use, and wrap flatware if needed.
Transport and store dishes, flatware, utensils, pots, and pans properly, and ensure sufficient clean and sanitized items are available for meal preparation and service schedules.
Clean and sanitize the dish machine and dish room, empty and clean/sanitize trash cans, keep the work area clean and uncluttered, and complete assigned cleaning duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
