About The Position

Under immediate to general supervision, performs general routine work in simple food preparation, serving and cleanup tasks. Work assignments are clearly defined and performed under established work procedures and policies. May provide training to new employees or explain work processes but would not be assigned work leader responsibilities such as assigning and monitoring work.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old.
• Must be able to attend New Employee Orientation Mon-Wed from 8am-4:30pm, dates to be determined upon hire.
• Knowledge of personal hygiene, basic kitchen equipment supplies and utensils.
• Knowledge of basic foodstuffs such as fruits, vegetables, bakery goods, meats and poultry.
• Knowledge of food preparation procedures for salads, sandwiches, short order items and other routinely prepared foods.
• Knowledge of facility standards and procedures for the cleaning of dishes, utensils, equipment and facilities.
• Knowledge of food sanitation and food preparation schedules.
• Ability to understand and follow facility kitchen and dining room safety practice.
• Ability to safely use knives and handle hot equipment or utensils.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to tolerate high temperature and high humidity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with facility residents, co-workers, patients or members.
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift and carry food items equipment and supplies.
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in the Food Service Industry.

Responsibilities

• Sets tables, fills sugar, salt and pepper shakers, and water glasses and coffee cups.
• Deliver food carts to outlying areas.
• Clears tables, cleans carts, and prepares dishes for dishwashing machines.
