About The Position

The Food Service Aide is responsible for preparing and operating the tray assembly line for patient feedings, operating the dish machine, preparing special nourishments, and preparing and delivering trays. This role also involves serving and distributing food, supplies, snacks, and nourishments. Additionally, the aide will serve at the service counter in the Employee Cafeteria and/or in the catering area, and perform cashier duties in the Employee Cafeteria. Key responsibilities include providing food products, filling, breaking down, and replenishing stations such as the salad bar, soda, pastry, cold food, and hot entrees in the Employee Cafeteria. As a Cashier, the aide must follow established procedures for accurately ringing up sales and making correct change, demonstrate knowledge of prices and menu items, and adhere to cashiering policies for various customer types. The role also involves performing routine sanitation and replenishment tasks in the kitchen, cafeteria, and patient service areas according to departmental and regulatory standards. This includes preparing and operating the tray assembly line for patient feedings, operating the dish machine, preparing special nourishments, and preparing and delivering late trays.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established procedures in activities related to ringing up sales accurately and making correct change for customers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of prices and of menu items.
  • Adhere to cashiering polices ensuring all sales accounts are rung up accurately.
  • Ensure all information is entered in cash register accurately on the appropriate key.
  • Perform a wide variety of routine tasks of sanitation/replenishment in the kitchen, cafeteria, and patient service areas according to departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and operate tray assembly line for patient feedings as needed.
  • Operate dish machine, prepare special nourishments, prepare and deliver late trays.
