About The Position

RUSH Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital committed to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. We help patients during some of the most vulnerable, painful moments of their lives – and every team member plays a central role in providing compassionate, excellent care every step of the way. This PRN/Per Diem position involves performing a variety of patient food services, dining room services, and dish room services. You will be an integral part of food preparations, serving prepared food to patients, families, staff, and visitors, and assisting in clean-up. The role requires being timely and efficient in food preparation, providing high-quality food preparation and service, and completing all scheduled procedures without compromising quality. You will also be expected to volunteer to help in other areas of the kitchen when necessary and operate equipment safely.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous healthcare food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of patient food services, dining room services and dish room services.
• Be an integral part of the food preparations, serving of the prepared food to patients, families, staff and visitors and assisting in clean up.
• Be timely and efficient when preparing food.
• Provide high quality food preparation and service.
• Complete all procedures scheduled during the shift without compromising the quality of work.
• Volunteer to help in other areas of the kitchen when necessary.
• Operate equipment and perform related duties in a safe manner.
