The Food Server, under general supervision, obtains guest food and beverage orders. Responsible areas may include Banquets, 19 Steak & Seafood, Stadium Sports Bar & Grill, Out of Bounds, and any food venue created for the purpose of guest service. The Food Server ensures accurate and timely service of all orders by working with kitchen personnel, exhibits a friendly and approachable demeanor, and is polite and courteous when speaking with guests and team members. The role requires learning and being familiar with all of Boyd Gaming, Inc.’s room outlets and server functions, and being able to answer general questions regarding the property. The server must anticipate guest needs, respond appropriately with a sense of urgency and professionalism, and maintain knowledge of menu offerings to answer guest questions and provide suggestions, including food items, preparation methods, and wine knowledge. The position involves anticipating and providing for guests’ needs throughout entire functions, ensuring guest satisfaction, and responding quickly and efficiently to guest complaints. The Food Server accurately accounts for and collects payment for all drink and food orders through the POS system in a timely manner. Duties also include performing food preparation, tableside cooking, serving food and beverages, checking with guests to ensure satisfaction, and managing all tables in the assigned section. Stocking service areas, assisting with overall dining service, and maintaining dining and serving areas according to standard are also key responsibilities. The role requires maintaining complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, hours of operations, proper table set-up, and dress code. Participation in liquor glassware removal, ensuring compliance with all Indiana Gaming Commission regulations, and abiding by all State, State Gaming, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations, including those pertaining to serving minors and intoxicated guests, are essential. Adherence to Health Department regulations and EcoSure standards regarding food handling, storage, and cleanliness is required. Consistent attendance at company/restaurant training programs, completion of opening, closing, and other side duties, and maintaining a well-groomed, neat, and clean appearance are expected. The position requires the ability to deal with difficult guests and work harmoniously with coworkers, performing all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual.
