About The Position

This position is responsible for providing food service to the members in a positive and friendly manner. Services may include – set-up and clean up of dining room, food preparation, serving food, and dishwashing. Wage: $19.810/hr (Breakdown: $16.810 base + $3.00 differential = $19.810). Hours are: 5 PM – 8PM weekdays and 11:30 AM – 8 PM every other weekend/holiday. Scheduled for approximately 14 hours each week. Great opportunity for students! Commuter bonus of $200/month available for those living 30+ miles away. Under immediate to general supervision, performs general routine work in simple food preparation, serving and cleanup tasks. May provide training to new employees or explain work processes but would not be assigned work leader responsibilities such as assigning and monitoring work.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow facility kitchen and dining room safety practice.
• Ability to safely use knives and handle hot equipment or utensils.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to tolerate high temperature and high humidity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with facility residents, co-workers.
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift and carry food items equipment and supplies.
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of personal hygiene, basic kitchen equipment supplies and utensils.
• Knowledge of basic foodstuffs such as fruits, vegetables, bakery goods, meats and poultry.
• Knowledge of food preparation procedures for salads, sandwiches, short order items and other routinely prepared foods.
• Knowledge of facility standards and procedures for the cleaning of dishes, utensils, equipment and facilities.
• Knowledge of food sanitation and food preparation schedules.

Responsibilities

• Sets tables, fills sugar, salt and pepper shakers, and water glasses and coffee cups.
• Deliver food carts to outlying areas.
• Clears tables, cleans carts, and prepares dishes for dishwashing machines.
