Food Server (FT/PT) (PM) ("Mesero/a")
About The Position
Oceana Coastal Kitchen is the signature restaurant at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa, offering beachfront dining with views of Mission Bay, chef-driven cuisine, and a modern, ocean-inspired design. The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is owned by Evans Hotels, LLC, a family-owned business committed to employee well-being through professional and personal development programs, employee appreciation days, and staff awards. The Food Server ("Mesero/a") is responsible for providing courteous, timely, and professional service in the restaurant. This role requires complete knowledge of all menus and pricing, along with a proactive, customer-oriented attitude. The server will welcome guests with a smile and a friendly greeting.
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training. A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire.
- RBS certification required.
- Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.

- Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
Responsibilities
- Cordially and professionally presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
- Employs suggestive selling techniques to stimulate sales.
- Actively observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when the meal has been completed.
- Checks with the guest after 3-4 minutes after serving the meals, in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Follows cash and credit card handling policies at all times.
- Is responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of their assigned section of tables.
- Is responsible for complete knowledge of menus, including cooking time, ingredients, etc.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
