About The Position

Provides food and beverage service to guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner as well as in compliance with the Gaming Enterprise Division’s (GED) and departmental policies, procedures, and standards as well as applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and transport materials and/or equipment frequently up to forty (40) pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach, pull, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, and bend for duties.
  • Must be able to travel to other CDS properties or any other events necessary for this specific role.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests and team members positively and professionally.
  • Extensive knowledge of the menu items sold in outlets, such as types of rolls, sauce ingredients, and allergies.
  • Knowledge of china, flatware, glassware, and pricing.
  • Working knowledge of cash register, calculator, Agilysys Point of Sale System, and currency transactions.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn and retain menu information, including preparation and ingredients of all items.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Good communication and guest service skills.
  • Skill in working courteously with guests as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Skill in counting money and making correct change.
  • Skill in exercising sound, mature judgment.
  • Ability to learn the ingredients of popular drinks and specific brands of spirits as well as wines and beers.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to accurately handle and count money as well as make change as server-based banking.
  • Ability to resolve service problems, especially those related to alcohol awareness requirements.
  • Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations pertaining to the position.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service skills.

  • One (1) year experience as a Food Server in casual eateries.
  • Must either have six (6) months money-handling experience or pass a job-related test.
  • Must either possess or obtain a valid Food Handler’s card OR ServSafe certification AND an Alcohol Awareness card within three (3) months of employment.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain, and retain a valid gaming license.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cocktails, especially the ingredients of popular drinks and specific brands of spirits as well as wines and beers.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell to all guests using a guest’s name, when possible, and making good eye contact.
  • Ensures place settings are appropriate, and each place setting has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting at start of shift.
  • Checks, cleans, and fills empty condiment containers at start of shift.
  • Takes orders for food and beverages, including alcohol, and communicates the orders to kitchen staff and bartenders, as applicable.
  • Answers guest questions about menu items, ingredients and related food and beverage selections.
  • Delivers food and beverages ensuring plating and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Assists in the preparation of drink orders, as required, performing tasks such as icing glasses and garnishing drinks.
  • Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes, as needed, according to established guidelines.
  • Responds to guest needs by providing continuous service until their departure.
  • Creates a comfortable, pleasant atmosphere for guests by being friendly and engaging in conversation as time permits.
  • Resolves guests’ complaints in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
  • Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
  • Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
  • Fosters a team environment by working collaboratively with co-workers.
  • Displays initiative and ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at guest and public relations functions.
  • Promotes Gaming Enterprise Division (GED) events and programs.
  • Complies with established GED and departmental policies, procedures, and standards as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
