Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Leadership and decision making skills are required.
  • 6 or more months of experience in sanitation and/or food processing industry.
  • Ability to take direction and instruction from manager and be accountable for own actions.
  • Safety awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

Nice To Haves

  • This position would involve you to be in a wet, hot, and or cold environment, while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Shift may vary depending on location.

Responsibilities

  • Provides directions for the sanitation crew within a certain area of the plant.
  • Assists the training team members and provide support as requested by the supervisor in that area.
  • Works cooperatively with management, team members, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Maintains open communications with all team members in the plant.
  • Meets with the Supervisor on a regular basis to ensure all issues are being properly handled and addressed, including missing or damaged parts and equipment.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment and workspace in a designated area of the plant.
  • Ensures team members in assigned area are completing job tasks to QA and USDA standards.
  • Inspects equipment to ensure all areas are clean for pre-op inspections.
  • Handles chemicals to ensure usage is within specified limits.
  • Monitors and provides personal protective equipment ('PPE').
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
