About The Position

This is a high-impact, hands-on FSQA role embedded directly on the production floor. You will play a critical role in ensuring food safety, protecting product integrity, and driving consistent execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will be trusted to monitor in real time, make informed decisions, and take action when standards are not met. This role is ideal for individuals who are technically strong, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within Food Safety, Quality, or Operations as the company scales.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or food manufacturing in a regulated environment
  • Experience working in USDA and/or FDA-regulated facilities
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety principles (particularly cooking and cooling processes)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, take action, and follow through to resolution
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical data and production trends
  • Experience performing quality testing such as pH, water activity, or similar methods
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in both execution and documentation
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage frontline teams and reinforce standards
  • High School Diploma required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with HACCP, USDA, FDA, and internal food safety standards
  • Perform hourly verification of Critical Control Points (CCPs), including cooking temperatures and rapid cooling rates
  • Execute in-process checks for weight, labeling, packaging integrity, and overall product quality
  • Serve as the QA presence on the floor during production, holding standards and addressing issues in real time
  • Support new product launches by verifying adherence to defined specifications for weight, temperature, and quality
  • Conduct on-site analytical testing, including pH, water activity, and sensory evaluation (taste, texture, appearance)
  • Perform pre-operational inspections, including ATP swabbing and chemical concentration checks to validate sanitation effectiveness
  • Enforce allergen controls and proper product segregation practices
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready digital records for all quality and food safety checks
  • Identify deviations, place non-conforming products on QA Hold, and ensure proper documentation and escalation
  • Investigate quality issues, support root cause analysis, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sanitation, and Maintenance to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Provide guidance and coaching to frontline employees to reinforce food safety and quality expectations
