About The Position

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This position works 1st shift and pays $21.95/hour, with weekly pay. The working environment is normal for a food manufacturing setting. This role involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds and requires the use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks. Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must be able to work in wet environment.
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently.
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification.
  • Internal Team Member Qualifications: Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date).
  • No written warning in the past six (6) months.
  • No suspension on record for the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
  • Documenting and calculating results accurately.
  • Taking corrective action, when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
  • Handling additional assignments as requested.
