About The Position

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems, documenting and calculating results accurately, and taking corrective action when necessary. This includes alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management. You will also handle additional assignments as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered.
  • Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date).
  • No written warning in the past six (6) months.
  • No suspension on record for the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
  • Documenting and calculating results accurately.
  • Taking corrective action, when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
  • Handling additional assignments as requested.
  • Performing heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more).
  • Standing on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Working in cold/hot temperatures.
  • Working in a wet environment.
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling.
  • Reaching high and low levels, frequently.
  • Climbing step ladders and/or stairs.
  • Working overtime and weekends.
  • Obtaining Lock Out Tag Out certification.
