About The Position

The primary function of this position is to assist the QA Manager with ensuring the company has the highest product quality that is safe for human consumption. This role involves direct supervision of QA technicians, coordination of their activities, and ensuring the implementation of SQF Program protocols and standards. The FSQA Supervisor will work with the QA Manager to maintain the HACCP program, including record-keeping and monitoring of Critical Control Points (CCPs). They are responsible for organizing and maintaining all records and documents for SQF, HACCP, and prerequisite programs. Collaboration with the Lab Manager on testing, following up on maintenance requests, and documenting sanitation needs are also key aspects of this role. The position requires interaction with the USDA regarding Non-Conformance Reports (NRs) and inspector concerns, as well as managing the internal pest control program and coordinating internal audits (GMP, glass, and brittle plastic).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a biological science.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a USDA RTE facility.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • HACCP certified.
  • Ability to make decisions without guidance.
  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to read and comprehend regulations, correspondence, instructions, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the QA Manager and serve as direct backup.
  • Directly supervise QA technicians and coordinate their activities.
  • Ensure implementation of SQF Program protocols and standards.
  • Assist in maintaining the HACCP program and associated records, including monitoring CCPs.
  • Ensure proper organization and maintenance of all records and documents for SQF, HACCP, and prerequisite programs.
  • Collaborate with the Lab Manager on scheduled testing.
  • Follow up on maintenance requests.
  • Document all needed sanitation requests.
  • Interact with USDA on NRs and inspector concerns.
  • Manage the internal pest control program.
  • Coordinate internal audits (GMP, glass and brittle plastic).
  • Assist the Lab Manager with sample collection for analysis.
