About The Position

The Food Safety Consultant completes food safety assessments, provides consultation on food safety programs and best practices to clients in the Retail Food industry. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; Represent CFS in a professional manner, and treat all clients and associates with respect. Provide in-depth consulting to clients on a wide range of Food Safety topics including, but not limited to: Internal Auditing, Team member training, Sanitation, Chemical control, Customer complaints, and Corrective & Preventative actions. Provide support services before, during and/or after inspections or audits. Perform Gap Analyses on food safety programs. Conduct Food Safety audits as requested/required. Act as a liaison between clients and county/state or local inspectors. Play a key role in food safety program development, implementation, and certification. Structure and prepare documentation, programs, processes, and registers according to the criteria required by the food safety standard being pursued. Conduct practice audits to ensure client readiness for an inspection or audit, and work with clients to rectify any nonconformities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-5 years of food safety experience, restaurant, supermarket, or other retail food experience.
  • Experience in consulting, auditing, and training.
  • Maintained the ability to retain and apply several client brand standards, reviewing risk, and promoting corrective actions.
  • Working knowledge of, application of, and ability to create Food Safety plans.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must pass pre-employment background screen.

Nice To Haves

  • HACCP certification is preferred.
  • HACCP trained professional.
  • Preferred RS, REHS, CP-FS, ServSafe.
  • Preferred Knowledge of Retail operations.
