About The Position

As a food runner, your primary responsibility is to deliver all food from the kitchen to the guests in the dining room. While guest interaction may be minimal, effective coordination and communication with the kitchen and team members are crucial to ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role also involves supporting various aspects of dining room operations to maintain efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Must possess basic reading skills.
  • At least 1 year restaurant dining room experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Food Handlers Card
  • Alcohol Awareness
  • Requires standing and walking continuously with a tray up to 20lbs throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 20lbs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat during the summer months.
  • Must be able to stand for entire shift.
  • Must be able to access service area when picking up beverage orders.
  • Must be able to converse over the telephone in an environment with loud background noise.
  • Must be able to stop, bend and reach.
  • Must have the manual dexterity required to write drink orders, prepare drinks and garnishes and beverage orders.
  • Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to simultaneously handle the demands of many customers.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 months gourmet restaurant dining room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the kitchen is properly cleaned and set before, during, and after each shift.
  • Provides assistance to Food Servers, Chefs, and Managers in accommodating guest needs and requests.
  • Ensures that all kitchen station supply stock is maintained to par levels.
  • Treats guests with courtesy and respect.
  • Is at all times appropriately groomed and wears the uniform provided.
  • Deliver all foods in the kitchen to the guests in the dining room.
  • Describe the main components of a dish upon delivery.
  • Have complete knowledge of products and specifications.
  • Assist the Front and Back servers in keeping the beverage and condiment stations supplied with condiments, sugar, coffee, tea, etc.
  • Replenish bread, butter, water, coffee, and tea as needed during the meal.
  • Able to expedite food line and use of Micros System.
  • Able to process guest payments and ring up food orders.
  • Adjust dining room tables.
  • Able to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Assisting clearing and re-setting tables.
  • Operate as a member of a team: help others and request help as needed.
  • Perform assigned side work.
  • Transport used linens, china, glassware, and flatware from the kitchen to designated locations during the meal.
  • Additional related duties as requested by the Front Waiter and/or Manager.
  • Clear tables and stack scraped dishes in the dish area.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining room floor.
