About The Position

PGI Foods is looking for a Food Quality Technician to join our Quality team in Lowell, MA. In this hands-on role, you'll perform product testing, inspect production processes, monitor food safety standards, and help ensure our soups, sauces, and specialty food products consistently meet company and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with quality control, quality assurance, laboratory, or food manufacturing experience who is looking to grow their career with an established and growing company.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience, preferably in food manufacturing
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
• Ability to work either scheduled shift based on production needs

Nice To Haves

• Experience with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety programs
• Experience performing food quality testing or laboratory procedures
• Previous experience in food manufacturing, production, or a laboratory environment
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

• Collect product samples and perform quality testing, including Brix, pH, viscosity, and other analytical tests
• Perform in-process and finished-product inspections
• Verify products meet established specifications for quality and consistency
• Review batch records and production documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Identify non-conforming products and place materials on quality hold when necessary
• Perform sanitation verification, environmental monitoring, and allergen testing
• Monitor production areas for temperature, humidity, and other environmental conditions
• Inspect incoming raw materials and finished products
• Review product labels for accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Accurately document quality results, findings, and corrective actions
• Work closely with Production and Quality teams to investigate quality issues
• Support continuous improvement and food safety initiatives
• Follow established GMP, sanitation, safety, and quality procedures
