About The Position

The Food Programming Fire Master Assistant will work closely with Food Studies faculty to develop and assist with activities and events, particularly at the interface of CRAFT and FSSE. This position will specifically aid in the continuity of Bread Oven training and use, training new users, and maintaining supplies and equipment for continued community use. The Program Assistant will help with programming, events, and activities, as well as planning and support for future terms. This is a Graduate Student Employment position.

Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation to Eden Hall.
  • Students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year.
  • Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

  • Previous hospitality or event management experience

Responsibilities

  • Helping to choose events, workshops, and activities around food studies themes.
  • Support community lunch when needed.
  • Support communications including design and posting on social media and other communications outreach.
  • Organize event support (other student workers, volunteers, staff, faculty) and logistics.
  • Schedule events, specifically with the Bread Oven and support a calendar of activities (coordinate with other FSSE, FST, and farm team activities).
  • Maintain and train people on the bread oven use and care.
