About The Position

This position is for a Food Production Worker in Nutrition Services, with an anticipated start in Fall 2026. The role involves completing assigned tasks to meet operational objectives, assisting with inventory and food stock rotation, and supporting other departments as needed. The worker will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the production department area, complying with food handling procedures, and attending required sanitation certification classes. Safety standards, including the use of safety belts, must be followed. The position also includes assisting with outdoor recycling center duties and performing other tasks as assigned by management. Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read and understand the English language.
  • Free of communicable diseases.
  • Physically able to perform assigned duties.
  • Frequently required to lift up to at least 60 lbs., bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level.
  • May be required to drive automatic equipment or vehicles.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stairs, ramps and scaffolds.
  • Continuously required to work with machinery, walk and stand.
  • Ability to perform job functions in extreme hot and cold areas of Food Production Center.
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Ability to work outside in recycling facility in various conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks to meet operation objectives.
  • Help with inventory and rotation of food stock.
  • Assist other departments when necessary.
  • Clean and maintain production department area according to instruction.
  • Comply with appropriate dress code as outlined in the Food Service Handbook.
  • Perform job functions in extreme hot and cold areas of Food Production Center.
  • Comply with food handling procedures established by the Food Service Department.
  • Attend the Sanitation Certification Class required by departmental guidelines.
  • Comply with safety standards established by the Food Service Department, including wearing safety belts.
  • Report job-related accidents and/or injuries to immediate supervisor within 24 hours of incident.
  • Comply with appropriate operational procedures and safety standards in the use of all equipment.
  • Support the Food Service Department with regular and reliable attendance.
  • Assist as needed with outdoor recycling center duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Production Manager and/or the Food Service Director.
