About The Position

A Food Preparer lead prepares and packs meals for various airlines. This role involves assembling equipment and food components according to airline specifications, maintaining production areas in compliance with sanitation standards, and working as a member of a team. The position also includes providing leadership, coaching, training, and mentoring to a subordinate group, communicating production progress and concerns to management, and monitoring compliance and safety rule adherence. The Food Preparer Lead assists the Supervisor or Manager in running the shift and ensures the flow of food at workstations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years in the related field
  • Must be able to read and write to complete required forms
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Has good understanding of the unit's operational processes
  • Work assigned schedule which may vary and could include weekends and holidays
  • Works overtime when required
  • Arrives to work on-time
  • Complies with company policies
  • Completes paperwork and related administrative duties
  • Handles pork, poultry, meat and fish products
  • Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise
  • May work in a cold room of 40 degrees or less for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds frequently during shift
  • Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours

Responsibilities

  • Assembles equipment and food components according to airline specifications following procedures and assembly diagrams
  • Keeps production areas in compliance with sanitation standards and customer requirements
  • Follows directions and works as a member of a team
  • Provides leadership, coaching, training and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
  • Communicates to higher level manager frequently on production progress or concerns (staffing, shortages, delivery system, etc.)
  • Monitors compliance and safety rule adherence at the work stations
  • Maintains the flow of food at work stations
  • Assists the Supervisor or Manager in running the shift
