About The Position

The Food Prep position is a full-time role responsible for various duties related to food merchandising, customer satisfaction, facility maintenance, and administrative tasks. This role ensures that grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and correctly priced. It also involves preparing and serving quality food and beverages, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and contributing to team efforts. The position requires a minimum age of 18, a high school diploma or GED is preferred, and retail sales experience is a plus. The ability to work scheduled hours, communicate effectively, perform basic arithmetic, and meet physical demands is essential.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to perform the four (4) basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with company guidelines for maximizing sales, profitability, and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly.
• Complete build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise.
• Maintain inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, and stocking merchandise according to schematic.
• Validate deliveries by verifying invoices and reviewing discrepancies with the Store Manager.
• Prepare displays by assembling, dating, and price marking in-store displays.
• Rotate food items, monitoring quality and freshness measures to protect customers from illness.
• Monitor and maintain the food preparation area and display cases to attract and retain customers.
• Assist in training new associates with an emphasis on excellent customer service when necessary.
• Monitor and organize inventory to prevent stockouts.
• Provide prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
• Greet customers upon entry and thank them upon departure.
• Resolve or assist in resolving routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
• Report to work on time and follow the dress and appearance code.
• Prepare and serve quality food and beverages to satisfy customer needs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Sweep and mop floors, dust and/or wash windows, counters, displays, store areas, and bathrooms.
• Pick up and dispose of trash, litter, or debris.
• Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain food service equipment.
• Attend job-related meetings, which may require working irregular hours.
• Maintain intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform all duties with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
