About The Position

The Food Prep position is a part-time role responsible for various duties related to food merchandising, customer satisfaction, facility maintenance, and administrative tasks. This role ensures that grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and correctly priced to maximize sales and profitability. The position also involves preparing and serving quality food and beverages, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and contributing to team efforts. The job requires adherence to company guidelines, policies, and procedures, with a strong emphasis on excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below.
• Ability to work in the conditions described below.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to perform the four (4) basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with company guidelines for maximizing sales, profitability, and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly.
• Complete build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise.
• Maintain inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, and stocking merchandise according to schematic.
• Validate deliveries by verifying invoices; review discrepancies with Store Manager; deliver outdated merchandise to Store Manager to ensure what the store is being charged verifies with what was delivered.
• Prepare displays by assembling, dating, and price marking in-store displays.
• Rotate food items, monitoring quality and freshness measures to protect customers from illness.
• Monitor and maintain food preparation area and display cases to attract and retain customers.
• Assist in training new associates with an emphasis on excellent customer service when necessary.
• Monitor and organize inventory to prevent being out of stock on an item a customer stopped in to purchase.
• Provide prompt excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
• Greet customers as they enter the area and thank customers as they leave.
• Resolve or assist to resolve routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
• Report to work on time and follow the dress and appearance code.
• Prepare and serve quality food and beverage to satisfy the needs of the customer.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Sweep and mop or clean floors.
• Dust and/or wash windows, counters, displays, store areas, and bathrooms.
• Pick up and dispose of trash, litter, or debris.
• Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain food service equipment to protect customers from illness.
• Attend job-related meetings (may be required to work irregular hours).
• Maintain intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform all duties with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
