About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. This role involves demonstrating commitment to the company's mission, values, and standards of ethical behavior, modeling a positive and professional image, and promoting a spirit of cooperation. The specialist ensures residents are treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, and their rights are protected. They must also comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures, ensure dietary procedures are followed, and serve palatable and appetizing meals. Additionally, the role involves setting up for meal service and assisting in ensuring meals are prepared and delivered on time and at the proper temperature.

Requirements

Previous dietary experience in acute or long term care environment preferred
Completion of Food Handling training and certification

Serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Sets-up tray cards, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed for meal service.
Assists in ensuring that meals are prepared and delivered on time and at proper temperature.
