About The Position

Responsible for effectively and efficiently packing finished product into appropriate containers and for performing general help requirements for readying product for production and/or packaging. Understand how to safely work around and shut down associated equipment. Pack the correct product in the proper package or shipping container without damage and meeting line speed and standard labor requirements. Individuals must be capable of picking up and properly placing in the appropriate container without damage 4 donuts per hand at approx. 25 cycles per minute or 3 donuts per hand at approx. 30 cycles per minute. Denest and place trays or other containers for others to fill to meet line speed requirements. Erect, prepare (insert poly bag liner), and present or pack corrugated boxes in packing operation to meet line speed requirements. Apply or insert the correct labels onto appropriate container to meet line speed requirements. Operate the box machine, label machine and all other equipment in the packing area safely and effectively. Must be able to perform in all positions effectively on the packing line rotation. Punch product with filling effectively and efficiently. Place Long Johns onto proof box trays correctly. Twist and place onto proof box trays correctly. Keep line and work area clean including floor scraping and removing trash during and at shift end. Form and place Cinnamon Buns and Apple Fritter onto proof box trays correctly. Notify the Packing Lead if you are not receiving product with the correct specifications. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Packing Lead, Lead Baker or the Supervisor. Follow all safety rules. Follow all GMP guidelines.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to other employees of the organization.
  • Basic math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
  • Majority of work will be repetitive in nature, using arms and hands for rapid grasping, packing, and supplying lines.
  • Standing for a minimum of eight and half-hours on cement or tile floors except for breaks and lunch.
  • Required to grasp up to four (4) donuts in each hand, approximately twenty (20) to thirty (30) times per minute, and pack them in containers ranging from 12 to 108 each depending on the product being run.
  • May be required to make a 15-degree turn back to place product into case.
  • Required to lift filled cases of donuts (each case between fifteen (15) to thirty (30) pounds), off of a packing table of about knee height, and place on a conveyor at the same height.
  • Required to fill donuts by grasping one donut in each hand and placing them on filling needles.
  • Between fifteen (15) and forty-five (45) donuts will be filled per minute.
  • When working on the Anets Table, required to grasp one donut in each hand when working on Cinnamon Buns and Apple Fritter, and forming round product and placing on a proof box tray, placing approximately 105 per minute.
  • When working on the Anets Table, required to slide one donut on their hand when working on Long Johns, and placing on a proof box tray, placing approximately 66 per minute.
  • When working on the Anets Table, required to slide one donut on their hand and with the other hand, twist product in the center, and place on a proof box tray, placing approximately 44 per minute.
  • May be required to put tin into the tin depositor and keep flour hoppers full when working on the Pie Line during the shift.
  • When working as fryer attendant, must be able to grasp and use handheld tool to manipulate donuts in fryer.
  • Must be willing to upgrade skills as necessary.

  • Performing all other duties as assigned by the Packing Lead, Lead Baker or the Supervisor.
  • Following all safety rules.
  • Following all GMP guidelines.
  • Keeping downtime at a minimum.
  • Notifying material handler or packing lead before materials run low.
  • Making all efforts to minimize waste.
  • Upgrading skills as necessary.
  • When a line is down, cleaning your general area first then helping others.
