This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where they provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters. The role involves being accountable for the production of food-safe product in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This includes becoming proficient in cleaning procedures, tear down and set up of equipment such as ovens, freezers, transfer belts and conveyors, general housekeeping of plant floors and drains, chemical cage, shelves, floors, and walls, and labeling containers. It also involves the start-up and shut-down of a production line, making mechanical adjustments, and troubleshooting equipment. The position requires ensuring all production paperwork is completed accurately, which involves basic mathematical calculations. The employee will be responsible for containing and proactively addressing potential problems to limit production disruptions and ensuring all processing steps are completed for a quality product delivery, including proper packaging and weight checks. Adherence to all Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Policies and Procedures is mandatory. This position has the responsibility to report issues with the food safety management system and the authority to initiate and record actions. The role requires acquiring and maintaining knowledge of HACCP/OPRP/PRP (GMP) policies and requirements for monitoring and verification tasks. Job duties may be revised by supervisors as needed.
