About The Position

The Bucks County Courier Times, part of the USA Today Network, is seeking a food and dining reporter. This role involves telling stories of local entrepreneurs, innovative menus, and contributing to USA Today's restaurant coverage, including roundups, profiles, and rankings. The beat focuses on the food, economy, and scene in dynamic Bucks County towns, uncovering hidden gems, and covering both high-end spots and significant openings and closings. The reporter will also create grocery-focused consumer content, produce quick and feature videos, and be comfortable on camera for social media platforms. The goal is to own the food and dining scene, focusing on the business of food and its contribution to the community, rather than being a reviewer or influencer.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a reporter/writer.
• Proven experience with content management systems and social media channels.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Driver’s license and a car.
• Strong writing skills and a command of grammar and style.
• Curiosity about everything to do with the food and dining scene.
• Experience with social media as a tool to build audience and as a source for beat development.
• Experience with and interest in multimedia, including video and podcasting.
• A self-starter who owns the beat yet works collaboratively with others locally and regionally to meet common goals.
• A journalist committed to values of fairness, diversity, inclusion and professionalism.
