About The Position

Affinity Group is seeking a Food Demo Contractor Consultant to work at Restaurant Depot. The role involves demonstrating and selling products, educating customers on product details, pricing, and location within the store. Each demo lasts four hours, with an additional hour for setup and 30 minutes for breakdown. Demo recap forms must be completed and submitted via an app. Demos are compensated at a flat rate of $270. The position also includes merchandising products and coordinating product displays with department managers, compensated at a flat rate of $170 for 4 hours. A smartphone is required for using the company's merchandising and demo reporting app. All activities will occur at Restaurant Depot locations. Applicants must possess or be willing to obtain a valid ServSafe certificate and must have a car. This contractor will be responsible for Restaurant Depot locations in Richmond and Virginia Beach, performing approximately 2 demos and 4 merchandising days per month, though these numbers are subject to change.

Requirements

Must be able to work for extended periods of time in a standing position
Requires excellent communication skills, neat appearance, and good grooming
Eighteen (18) years of age or older
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must own a computer and have internet access
Must have a smart phone with the ability to take and send pictures
Basic computer skills, a must
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Must have a car
Applicant must hold or be willing to attain a valid ServSafe certificate.

Responsibilities

Greet customers enthusiastically
Provides excellent customer service by answering product-related questions and helping customers locate items representing
Set up and organize table for demonstration
Prepare vendor products using Demonstration POS to enhance product display
Serve samples and demonstrate products and explaining it’s attributes and features
Maintain friendly, positive, well-groomed appearance
Maintain professional, clean, healthy and safe work environment
Provides daily accurate and timely reporting of time worked and sales results
Responsible for cleaning up workstation area
Loads, unloads and moves products that are sometimes heavy or bulky
Responsible for checking on other merchandise in the store to be sure there are shelf tags, it is packed out and monitoring expiration dates.
