About The Position

Community Concepts is seeking a Food Coordinator/Center Aide to provide a complete nutritional program to children ages 0-5 following regulations and requirements, as well as supporting classrooms at our Fryeburg Early Learning Center. This position is a minimum of 30 hours per week year round and 40 hours per week when all classrooms are in session.

Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a cook preferred
• Considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, and carry
• a valid driver's license
• basic skills with Microsoft Office
• ability to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, Maine Sex Offender Registry, DHHS fingerprinting, fraud, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment
• valid driver’s license and travel within the service area is required

Responsibilities

• Adhere to existing state health requirements in regards to food preparation, serving, storage, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Meet special dietary needs and make menu adjustments as appropriate.
• Purchase and prepare all food for the center.
• Work with staff and families to plan ethnic and developmentally appropriate nutritional activities for children that encourage diversity and healthy eating habits.
• Sharing the responsibility for proper care and cleanliness of the classroom and center
