About The Position

This role leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. The coach tours stores, provides feedback, and communicates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. They introduce and lead company change efforts, provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. The coach models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards, manages and supports customer service initiatives, ensures customer needs are resolved, and develops action plans for improvement. Additionally, this role drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit Loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, controlling expenses, monitoring merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes, and developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. The coach provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset. They ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, support the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity, and utilize the Open Door Policy. The role emphasizes respecting the individual by building high-performing teams, embracing differences, creating a workplace of belonging, and empowering associates to thrive. It also involves acting with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance, modeling Walmart values, and supporting the company's goal of becoming a regenerative company. Requirements

  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, the position may require successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state specific requirements, the position may require a current state issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
