About The Position

This role is responsible for leading and developing teams, driving financial performance and sales, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Food & Consumables Coach will focus on customer service, merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes. They will also supervise and develop hourly associates, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. The position emphasizes acting with integrity, serving customers, and striving for excellence in all aspects of the job.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates.
  • Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates.
  • Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
  • Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing P&L statements and managing expenses.
  • Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  • Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring.
  • Assigns duties, sets clear expectations, provides associate recognition, and communicates expectations consistently.
  • Promotes a belonging mindset in the workplace and recruits and develops qualified associates.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Creates a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected through a culture of belonging.
