The Food Captain is responsible for ensuring all food operational execution in the store is followed to maximize sales and reduce waste. This role involves training, teaching, and coaching store associates on food execution, production, replenishment, ordering, organization, sanitization, and customer service. The Food Captain will be the go-to person in the store for employees with questions related to food products and services, and will plan and execute food sampling for employees and customers. They will also conduct and lead in-store training for store employees and operation teams on new Foodservice programs, modeling an established train-the-trainer program, and follow up with refresher training activities as needed. The Food Captain ensures foodservice areas are stocked and food is rotated using the FIFO method, and that food items are displayed according to the current Planogram. They will order or assist in ordering food products to lower out-of-stocks and improve shrink, while monitoring shrink and improving sales to maximize foodservice profit. This role involves identifying, suggesting, training, and continuously collaborating with BUQAS training personnel to ensure manager and store employee Foodservice training programs are delivered effectively, and conducting needs analysis and providing recommended actions based on BUQAS visits. The Food Captain operates within budgeted expectations.
