About The Position

To greet and escort our guests to their tables in a friendly and efficient manner. Being a Restaurant Supervisor, you should have experience in all dining room positions including being a Server, Food Runner and Host. The Food & Beverage Supervisor role will have a strong focus on The Studio’s breakfast and brunch services.

Requirements

  • Ability to read the English language, to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, and reservations.
  • To supervise staff in a professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction using Marcus standards.
  • Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing proactive solutions.
  • Previous restaurant and hospitality knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform all dining room positions including server, server assistant, and host.
  • Supervise staff and dining room in manager's absence.
  • Assist with on-going training to ensure standards are being met.
  • Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties. Organize special events in the restaurant such as receptions.
  • Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met. Verify temperature, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality. Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.
  • Maintain profitability of outlet to support hotel operations. Control payroll and equipment costs. Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering, and retrieving supplies.
  • Utilize POS system to accurately charge customers, track revenue reports and ensure timeliness of food and beverage. Input and retrieve data and change computer procedures using complex series of keypunches to program system.
  • Implementing and maintaining housekeeping, sanitation and cleanliness standards in all areas of the hotel.
  • Maintaining a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and self-image with yourself as well as subordinates.
  • Administering sales promotion programs and employee sales incentive programs.
  • Knowing the competition and keeping current with industry trends.
  • Directing and coordinating the activities of all assigned associates and departmental responsibilities in the restaurant.
  • Supporting hotel policies and procedures.
  • Assists Food & Beverage management in training new associates and controlling labor cost by monitoring staffing needs during hours of operation.
  • Assures associate adherence to cleanliness and sanitation best practices, including associate uniform and presentation.
  • Generating shift reports highlighting sales wins/losses and guest interactions. Reports should give emphasis on how the team can better prepare for the following shift.
  • Reporting on the following to be discussed and reviewed with Director of Outlets: staff performance and progress, operational needs, culture components, etc.
  • Performs other duties and handles projects as assigned by the Food & Beverage Management.
