About The Position

Sunshine Village is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Food & Beverage Shift Lead to join our dynamic food and beverage team. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to guests in our restaurants and during banquet events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to create memorable experiences for our guests. Shift Leads work under the supervision of the F&B Supervisor and Manager, or designate, and closely with all culinary and distribution departments at Sunshine.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Server in a high-volume restaurant, bar, or hotel environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems for order taking and payment processing.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Maintain professional conduct when in uniform, on or off-duty, and online.
  • Effectively provide support and assistance to coworkers.
  • Certification in ProServe is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certification in hospitality or bartending is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Providing outstanding guest service, including all duties of a restaurant Server and responding promptly to guest complaints and concerns, supporting other team members, when a Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Greeting guests promptly and courteously, providing menus and drink lists.
  • Taking accurate food and beverage orders, answering any questions and making recommendations as needed.
  • Serving food and drinks promptly, ensuring orders are accurate and meet our quality standards.
  • Monitoring guest satisfaction, addressing any concerns or special requests in a professional manner.
  • Maintaining knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
  • Upselling additional menu items such as appetizers, desserts, and beverages to enhance the dining experience.
  • Setting up tables with appropriate settings and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment.
  • Clearing and resetting tables promptly to accommodate new guests.
  • Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
  • Assisting with the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring guest needs are met.
  • Following specific instructions for each event, including menu variations and special arrangements.
  • Collaborating with the banquet team to provide seamless and efficient service during events.
  • Working closely with kitchen staff and other servers to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Participating in pre-shift meetings to review daily specials, menu changes, and any special instructions.
  • Supporting colleagues during peak periods and provide assistance as needed to maintain smooth operations.
  • Adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of food and beverages.
  • Following all hotel policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to the manager.
  • Timely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting.
  • Completing all training documentation.
  • Effective, professional, and responsible cash handling.
  • Empowered to apply discounts to bills and void bills, as reasonable and appropriate under the specific circumstance or direction from a senior F&B leader.
  • Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.
