About The Position

The Food & Beverage Manager In Training (MIT) program at Sensei Lāna’i, A Four Seasons Resort, is a 12–18-month rotational program designed to develop leadership capabilities within Four Seasons. Participants will gain hands-on operational experience in Food & Beverage across various outlets such as Sensei by Nobu, Garden Bar, Pool, In-Room Dining, and/or Stewarding. The program focuses on experiential learning, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster long-term career growth. The ideal candidate will share a passion for excellence and infuse enthusiasm into their work, contributing to an exceptional guest experience through extensive knowledge of the Resort and embodying the Golden Rule in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States.
  • Holidays and weekends availability is required.
  • Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card.
  • Hawaii Food Handler’s Card and Hawaii Maui County liquor card is required for this role.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily Food & Beverage operations with a visible leadership presence, ensuring consistent service standards and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Engage with guests, build relationships, and professionally resolve concerns and special requests to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Monitor facility and equipment conditions, recommending improvements and collaborating with Culinary and Front-of-House teams on menus and offerings.
  • Participate in and lead meetings, training sessions, and pre-shift briefings while supporting onboarding and development of team members.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback, while communicating performance updates and training progress to management.
  • Facilitate clear communication and coordination between Front- and Back-of-House teams and across departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support labor and cost management efforts through scheduling, budgeting, inventory control, and operational efficiency.
