The starting pay range for this position per hour is $25.25 - $27.25. The full pay range for this position per hour is $25.25 - $42.95. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. Teams in General Merchandise (GM) and Food & Beverage (F&B) prioritize guest experience while blending completion of tasks that ensure product is fresh, available and easy to shop – replenishment, pricing and signing, setting, and maintaining the sales floor and the backroom. The GM and F&B teams also execute inbound, outbound, and fulfillment responsibilities. The role of a General Merchandise & Food Sales Team Leader can provide you with the skills and experience of: Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest- first and freshness culture on your team, Retail business and guest service fundamentals, including department sales trends, freshness and quality, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies, Leading a team by planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals, with alignment from your direct leader, all while driving process improvements and enhancing workload efficiency. Leading a team of hourly team members, including skills in interviewing, training, coaching, evaluating, retaining and developing talent. Coaching and training hourly team members to build a team of hourly team members with direction from your direct leader.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Age 18 or older
Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business
Lead and hold others accountable
Learn and adapt to current technology needs

Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
Climb up and down ladders as needed
Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 lbs without additional assistance from others.
Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary
Ability to work in an environment that could range from 34°F to -10°F as needed
Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).

Ensures every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
Actively observes and provides feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
Reviews area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, takes action to improve, and aligns team on the right behaviors and execution, celebrates wins, drives results that deliver outcomes and elevates the guest experience.
With your direct leader’s guidance, lead the execution of daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including: merchandising, signing, setting and updating merchandise salesfloor displays, sampling, restocking shelves, organizing backrooms, and price change for GM & Food areas.
With guidance from your direct leader, educate your team on how operational procedures, such as setting up and organizing merchandise, managing product accuracy and stock levels, and maintaining sales floor areas, affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
Help assess reporting to identify gaps in GM & Food processes and assist to develop a plan to resolve for your direct leader to review and approve.
Be an expert of operations, accuracy, process and efficiency.
Plan, manage, assess and validate best practices to determine operational opportunities.
Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, ensuring alignment with weekly and monthly business priorities set by your direct leader.
With guidance from your direct leader, lead food, food services (if applicable), inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes through a focus on freshness and reliability for guests.
With your direct leader’s guidance, help with efficient delivery to our guests by leading pick, pack and ship fulfillment work accurately (if applicable)
Help enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is in stock, available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor with minimal disruption to the guest.
Collaborate with all teams and leaders (including closing team) to identify key priorities and ensure the store is guest ready in alignment with your leader’s direction.
Lead an efficient Food & Beverage team that strives to deliver the Food & Beverage standards by completing the Food & Beverage Daily Standards walk
Assess backroom and sales floor areas of Food & Beverage and Food Service on a daily basis by walking the Target Food & Beverage Standards.
Prioritize your business needs and identify workload tasks for the team; review reporting to identify business trends for follow-up.
Maintain a fresh, full and food safe area during all operating hours leveraging strong inventory management area routines and Food Safety policies and procedures.
Ensure proper execution of all Food Safety standards and cleaning routines.
Assess backroom and sales floor areas of Food & Beverage and Food Service (where applicable) on a daily basis by walking F&B Standards to prioritize your business needs and identify workload tasks for the team; review reporting to identify business trends for follow-up.
Stay informed about relevant trends and products to educate team members by relaying Target communications from available tools and resources during team connection moments.
Develop and maintain partnerships with vendors to ensure clear expectations are established, brand standards (such as delivery and merchandising) are being met and areas are full and maintained.
Promote maintenance of all Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards (where applicable); foster a productive partnership with your Starbucks district manager and follow up on key takeaways from their time in stores.
In addition to Food Safety Manager Certification, complete all Starbucks and/or Pizza Hut training requirements or certifications (if applicable).
With your direct leader’s guidance, help establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to expectations.
Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team, as directed by your direct leader.
Model a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions.
Lead and coach the team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all GM & Food processes in accordance with your direct leader’s guidance.

Model a culture of executing all best practices as outlined; help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions.
If applicable, as a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities to enable the guest experience for the store during assigned shifts based on store needs
