About The Position

Centra Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand-new 72-bed behavioral health facility opening in 2026. We offer high-quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Our teams provide evidence-based, transformational care for a broad range of mental health concerns in a compassionate, comfortable environment. A Food and Nutritional Services Worker who excels in this role: Collaborates with the Dietary Manager and Registered Dietitian to support menu planning and meet patient-specific nutritional needs. Stores and rotates food and consumable items in compliance with health department regulations and hospital guidelines. Adheres to FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation standards, ensuring no expired products remain on-site, and properly dates and labels all food items. Maintains accurate documentation and monitors temperatures from delivery through service. Follows all sanitation and food safety protocols, including proper food‑handling procedures and the use of service utensils and gloves. Ensures equipment is cleaned according to safety and sanitation standards. Prepares meals in accordance with the menu cycle and daily production sheets, with attention to presentation, flavor, portion control, and production accuracy. Ensures meal trays are accurately prepared for patients unable to visit the cafeteria. Engages with patients and staff in the serving line while providing nutritionally balanced meal options. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Food Safety/Sanitation certification required as per state regulations.
  • De-escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in food service and/or preparation setting (restaurant, hospital, nursing center, hotel, etc.) preferred.
