About The Position

Working under the direction of the Food and Nutrition Service Manager and/or assistant manager, this role involves storing, preparing, and serving food, as well as cleaning equipment and food service areas. The position is for a term of nine and one-quarter (9.25) months and follows the Food Service Salary Schedule - Worker B.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED certificate or have sufficient ability to follow written instructions, schedules, interpret recipes and do the arithmetic necessary to adjust quantities
• Willingness to participate in Food and Nutrition Service training
• Ability and initiative to plan, organize and carry out assignments with minimum of supervision
• Ability to work harmoniously with staff and students
• Excellent physical and mental health
• Neat, well groomed appearance

Responsibilities

• Prepares meats, vegetables, salads, dressings, breads, and/or desserts as directed
• Serves on serving line(s)
• Assists in storing groceries, meats, and supplies
• Cleans cooking equipment and kitchen, serving and dining areas as directed
• Assists with maintaining proper sanitation
• Attends workshops as scheduled
• Performs related duties as required
